This mixtape, with all of its errors, technical foul-ups, bad cuts, bad mixes, whack levels, and problems was made for one reason: I couldn't spin at DefCon9 in Las Vegas because there wasn't any room. So, in lieu of managing to find a way to bring a PA system and some tables poolside (which is an idea I'm going to pimp for next year), I decided, hastily, to put together this mix CD, my first, in a matter of a few hours. I hope you enjoy it. I have only been spinning since February 2001 (and only seriously since about April or so), I still have a lot to learn and room to grow. However, DJing is a great opportunity to express myself through music. I apologize to those listening that consider most of the tracks on this CD overdone. I agree. However, I felt that a few more popular tracks would perhaps get more people to listen. I spin other stuff besides the golden moldies of trance and house and will hopefully put together a new (and hopefully better produced) mixtape of this material in the future. Don't rule out a stomping happy hardcore set as well! Please share and enjoy this CD. Please remember when corresponding that I admit to the crappy quality of this mixtape up front. This was, for me, the ultimate DIY job. Hey, if it works for punk, it should work for me. All songs copyright their respective owners. This mix © 2001 by Paul Schneider.
